Tv d’Oro Sport Edition: still time to take part

August 2012. The most important Italian monthly magazine dealing with broadcast issues is Millecanali, edited by “ilSole 24 ore group. Every year that magazine holds a contest dedicated to Italian local tv stations which is called “Tv d’Oro”.

This year the novelty is that this contest gets a new dimension, since it is completely centered on Sports. The name of such contest is ‘Tv d’Oro 2012’ (Golden TVs), and spans across Summer: to take part in this competitions, all tv stations have time till the end of September.

It is a long tradition of tv prizes awarded in many years to all those channels who deserve attention outside more official contents like those organized by RAI and others content providers.

This year Tv d’Oro 2012 - Sport Edition is meant to prize the best regional tv broadcasts covering local areas and “minor interests”. Following up to the fully successful 2011 edition of Tg d’Oro again organized by Millecanali, Mauro Roffi Editor of Millecanali declared: “We have thought - in the year of the Olympic Games and European soccer championship -to devote this specific initiative to tv news bulletins, sports current affaires and sports broadcasts, which better characterize the schedule of almost all Italian local channels.

In such contest, the Tv d’Oro - Sport Edition, all local Italian Tvs will be racing proposing their best transmissions and prizes will be awarded also to the most innovative sports channels as a whole.

A proper technical jury will have the final word on awarding the prizes in accordance with Università Cattolica di Milano.

The awards will be distributed in Autumn 2012 again within Università Cattolica in Milan, during a whole day dedicated to sports themes that will be introduced, some weeks ahead, by a dedicated technical conference dealing with the use of newsroom systems inside Italian broadcasters, whit a closer look at news bulletins and sports programs.

This decision to extend the original agreed deadline before Summer was taken in consideration of the idea that South of Italy is now facing the difficult immediate aftermath of the switch over transition to digital terrestrial transmissions, and the delicate matter concerning tv stations broadcasting within channels 61-69 in the North of Italy, which is still to be decided.

So the final deadline for this competition is next 30th September. A longer span to chose and prepare all best sports programs and send them via FTP (or also on Dvd) with earlier agreement with editorial offices of Millecanali at +39. 02 3022 6003 - 6005).

For international readers Mauro Roffi underlines an important point: “Please note the competition is dedicated to Italian television sports programs but international materials of foreign channels, if any, may receive proper mention!
