On 25th June the first electric satellite multimedia vehicle in Italy was presented at Nuvolaverde Day, "the digital pride day" held within headquarters of Italian editor Il Sole 24 Ore. The new and innovative vehicle is fully equipped with updated technological equipments and clearly reveals extremely useful in thousands typical situations from news to sports reporting, live stadiums and so forth or even wifi temporary connectivity.
It's main feature is that it is completely powered by electricity and connected to every network via satellite through a proper moving over the top dish.
This breakthrough is the result of six Italian companies joint together in order to supply innovative multimedia applications and at the same time ecologically respecting the environment.
The project involved a brand new and agile car, a Smart, fully equipped with an electric engine and a self tracking satellite dish plus a long array of technological equipments.
The final result is a fully equipped "mobile hub" based on high performances capable of satisfying a great list of communication needs including video conferences, news and sports reports relay and delivering all kinds of digital datas, audio, video, and computer and metadata without releasing any polluting agent in the atmosphere.
Friendly hardware equipped, it may reveal as a decisive solution for every audiovisual content provider, and even for long distance doctor diagnosis and also can be precious for startup companies communication or reporting needs.
IcarusNet is the mother company specialized in satellite communications which inspired the idea and its CEO, Fabrizio Carletta, has said: "Social responsibility of technological companies is the key to the future. IcarusNet made the vehicle available, implemented all engineering technologies, and connectivity equipments, while Eutelsat Italia and Skylogic supplied other technologies and satellite capacity, and Feedback Italia is the supplier for video communication equipments and Diem Technologies together with Onda Teleelectronic in their turn supplied all multimedia equipments, plus a remotely controlled Panasonic Video camera Series 50, Blackmagic Design Mixer and several other A/V accessories used in cabling.
This vehicle may easily follow any work group along their movements in even Italian region guaranteeing links and connectivity for instance between some video troupes and the main operating room or any long distance ob-vehicle engaged on field production. In every situation a high level of quality is guaranteed and the idea is that it can boast its capacity especially in sports events. The only requested caution is to place the vehicle in a proper position though it is very easy to achieve this making use of a a proper Eutelsat application supplied.
